#BULGARIA : A History of the 2027 host nation at Eurovision -Part 7

As we all know, Bulgaria took their first ever victory at the Eurovision Song Contest, this year held in Vienna , Austria with Dara and her song “Bangaranga”. With the recent news that we are off to Burgas for next year’s contest, we at Eurovision Ireland, decided to create a series to have a look back at Bulgaria’s history at Eurovision and also Junior Eurovision. There’s no doubt that they have brought us some interesting acts over the years they have been in the contest. Today we look at 2011.

2011 -Poli Genova “Na Inat”

Poli Genova is a Bulgarian singer, actress and TV presenter. She was chosen via a National Final to represent her country at the contest in Dusseldorf, Germany in 2011, with the song “Na Inat”.Unfortunately, she didn’t make it out of her Semi Final,placing 12th in the Second Semi Final. Not to be defeated, Poli would return in later years when she was able to improve her fortunes at ESC.

Junior Eurovision 2011

This year, Bulgaria opted to partake in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest , held in Yerevan , Armenia. Ivan Ivanov, was selected by means of the Bulgarian broadcaster BNT , holding a National Final to select their JESC entry. His song was called Superhero .At the contest in Yerevan, Bulgaria finished in a respectable 8th place with 60 points
