We have been following the postings recently across many Jedward fan pages and the message that we see popping up time and time again is that Eurovision 2014 looks like a serious consideration.

What may have prompted this? Well firstly Jedward said it themselves yesterday in The Irish Mirror newspaper. Edward admitted they” wouldn’t rule out performing at Eurovision for a third time” – and went on to say that he believed Europe should “apologise for giving Ryan Dolan just five points this year”. He said: “I think the Eurovision always rocks.”

Secondly Jedward are currently without a Recording Contract. Their 3 album contract with Universal Music Ireland came to an end and  the deal was not renewed. It seems that the twins are looking for a larger international contract. Despite not having a contract they have been in Los Angles and recorded 9 songs with Drew Andrew Scott.

Drew Andrew Scott I hear you say. Well he is a 25 year old singer, song writer and producer that has worked with a wide variety of artists from Miley Cyrus, The Overtones, New Kids on the Block, Willow Smith and Jedward. He has previously written on their “Victory” album and co-wrote the songs “Hold The World” and “Everyday Superstar”.

Jedward have been on the International charm offensive from Canada to Australia and now Africa – especially Nigeria where they are extremely popular. Yesterday they did a google hangout with Top Nigerian Radio Station Beat 99.9FM

They are planning a potential international tour to act as a show case for a new International record deal. They have said that they are looking at a new “Disco” sound for their next album and cite Linda Martin’s performance of Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines” for inspiring this new musical direction.

Add to this that Jedward provided weekly updates on Melodifestivalen this year in Sweden – they were certainly keeping their finger on the pulse for Eurovision. Seeing Valentina Monetta coming back for the 3rd time in a row for San Marino will have given them a great PR opportunity for Eurovision 2014.

The number of Jedward for Eurovision blogs, Facbook pages and Twitter accounts is phenomenal. Jedward for a third time to represent Ireland just went up another level this year from idle gossip to strong speculation. Stay tuned for more information as we get it.

Would you like to see Jedward at Eurovision for a third time or is it too soon yet for their return?

  1. It would be great if they done Eurovision again!! They have a lot more fans across Europe now which means they could get even more points!!

      • Yes! They had their TWO chances. Let someone else have a go. Jedward entering three times is a sad reflection on this country’s attitude to the contest. And hey, maybe we could send Rubberbandits the following year while we’re at it? It’s not like we could embarrass ourselves any more than we already have.
