It was only a matter of time but America and the media are calling for Conchita Wurst. We all know that she is going to ‘The Golden Globe Awards’ but did you know that the Hollywood Foreign Press have organised an evening with our Eurovision Winner?

Thursday January 8th at the Los Angeles Press Club at the  Steve Allen Theater,  4773 Hollywood Blvd,  Los Angeles – Conchita will be spending an evening on stage being interviewed for the Hollywood Foreign Press by Board Member Barbara Gasser.

The Hollywood Foreign Press have written of the event

“Recording artist and drag queen Conchita Wurst from Austria became an international sensation when she won the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with “Rise like a Phoenix”.

The go on to talk about the impact Conchita has had on Europe saying

“The artist has become a symbol of acceptance and tolerance throughout Europe. After performing in front of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon he described Wurst as a “cultural icon” and asserted that “Everyone is entitled to enjoy the same basic rights and live a life of worth and dignity without discrimination. This fundamental principle is embedded in the UN Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Conchita is a symbol in that sense.”

And so begins the love affair of the USA with our Conchita Wurst.
