What does “50 Shades of Grey” and Eurovision have in common? A strange question but the answer is “Hot Irish Men”. Yes during this year’s Eurovision contest one act took the fancy – and twitter feed – of one EL. James – who is better known as the author of the book and global phenomena “50 Shades of Grey”.

Yes the author was most complimentary of the Irish Act at this year’s Eurovision and posted many tweets about Ryan, Colm and Alan. She wrote: “Well that’s a good start… leather clad half-naked bodhran drummers with Tattoos…”. You can be sure that in her follow-up books to “50 Shades of Grey” that if there are any leather clad bodhran drummers in it, we know where the inspiration has come from!

Ryan Dolan’s 2 dancers have become extremely popular following their Eurovision appearance. Colm Farrell and Adam McGrath have been in demand since their time on stage in Malmo. Both of them will be touring with Ryan throughout Europe this summer as Ryan is in demand as his song “Only Love Survives” has charted in over 30 countries to date.

Alan has made it through to the second round of auditions for Louis Walsh’s new boyband saying “I was very lucky, I got a recall. I think the next audition will be in June but we have to wait awhile because that’s when they start filming X-Factor so Louis will be juggling the two.“I don’t want to get my hopes up but it would be amazing to be picked for the boyband. I had hoped to get through with Colm – we always stick together but unfortunately, it was out of our hands this time.”

Colm has said that he too it busy with many job offers coming through but has admitted he would love to take part in the Eurovision again. “I would definitely do it next year if I were asked to. It was completely new to us this year and in spite of our result, it was such a great experience, that I wouldn’t hesitate.”
