Eythor Ingi had his first rehearsal at Eurovision 2013 of his song Eg A Lif (I am Alive). Eythor sings this song simply and beautifully. He starts with his back to the audience and rotates slowly. The backdrop scene has taken the theme from his preview video of the sea with boats, a lighthouse etc.

He is dressed in black with a white jacket and has his long blonde hair hanging loose. He has 4 backing singers that appear from behind the stage as he holds a long powerful high note as the song hits the key change.

Eythor gives an understated and sophisticated performance which adds to the appeal of this song and it is just a beautiful haunting ballad – as simple as that. It doesn’t try to be anything it is not and I think it should qualify with ease.
