Well we have had the great news that Spain will be in Eurovision 2013. I didn’t think that there was any chance of them not being there. I am sure the Spanish Eurovision Fans would have been out in anger if they were not there – and Euroclub would not be the same without them and their annual skipping rope that we all enjoy (Shhhh don’t tell anyone)
This year Spain made a well deserved return to the Top 10 with the wonderful Pastora – whom I thought was going to be Top 3. However it was great to see them back in the Top 10.
NOW WHO NEXT??
Well the Spanish National Broadcaster – TVE – has said that they will again have an internal selection to find a well known and experienced artist who will then sing all the songs in the National Final. Pablo Alboran was the name that everyone was saying was certain of getting the ticket to Malmo. However apparently NOT!
In an official statement by Pablo and his record company – EMI – they have said that he has seen the speculation across the internet about his involvement in Malmö this year – and that “they are not true”. He is said to be planning a large tour and promoting his platinum Number 1 album. Here is a copy of the story and the statement from Pablo and EMI.
If this turns out to be true then there will be a lot of broken Eurovision Hearts across Europe today! Stop – not all is lost. For the fourth year in a row the Spanish Eurovision fan site www.eurovision-spain.com held an online poll and the artist that they wanted to see represent them at Eurovision is the female sensation Malú – who has had 8 chart topping albums in Spain. “Malú for Malmo” has a ring to it?
As it stands we know the following
- Spain will be in Eurovision 2013
- They are following the same selection process as of 2012
- Pablo Alboran and EMI have said that he is not going to enter
- The Spanish Eurovision Fans have voted for their favourite – Malú
Here are the 2 singers mentioned for Spain as of yet

So if you had to select from Pablo or Malu – Who would you prefer?
