🇫🇮 #ESC27: Helsinki & Tampere Interested In Hosting If Finland Win

Both Helsinki & Tampere have expressed hosting the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, if Finland win the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna.

Mirkka Rautala, the Chief Operating Officer at Live Nation, the company responsible for events at the Veikkaus Arena (formally known as the Hartwall Arena), has stated that the arena is constantly thinking about the calendar of planned events but cannot publicly comment if any time has been set aside at this moment in time for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. Liisa Kivelä, the Communications Director at the City of Helsinki, had the following to say:

Tampere, Finland’s second largest city, has also shown interest in hosting the contest in 2027. Perttu Pesä, who acts as the city’s event director, has stated Nokia Arena would be a possible venue for a bid – adding that the city is confident that there is enough hotel space for Contest visitors. Marko Hurme, the CEO of Nokia Arena, has also confirmed that the arena would be ready to host the contest – having hosted UMK since 2024.

Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, are currently focussed on the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest, in Vienna. Johanna Törn-Mangs, Executive Editor-in-Chief of Yle’s Culture and Affairs Department, had the following to say:
