With song submission period for Selectia Nationala 2019 ending in 5 days (December 10), Eurovision winner Conchita Wurst transmitted today a message for the next Romanian representative at ESC 2019 in Tel Aviv.
The 24 semi-finalists will be revealed on December 20.
In each of the two semi-finals, which will take place in January/February 2019, a national jury will select up to five songs to qualify for the final whilst the public will get to decide the 6th qualifier. TVR also reserves the right to select one wildcard act. This means that no more than 13 entries will compete in the final.
The final will be held in February. For the first time in Selecția Națională history, an international jury will help select the Romanian Eurovision representative. They will make up 50% of the vote and the public will contribute with the rest 50%.
Could it be possible to see Conchita as one of the Jury members this years? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
Last year Romania failed to qualify in the grand Eurovision Final for the first time since the introduction of the Semi-Finals.
