We continue the series of interviews with the cadidates from Romania’s semi-finals of Selectia Nationala 2018.
Today we had the pleasure to speak with another fan favourite Alessandro Danescu.
His song Breaking Up should have no problem making it to the finals, if the fans got it right. Here is what he told us!
Hey Alessandro! Thank you for taking the time for this interview. Congratulations for qualifying for the Semi-Finals of Selectia Nationala 2018! Can you tell us more about yourself? The public and our readers want to know you better. So who is Alessandro Danescu?
Hi! First of all I want to thank you for this interview opportunity!
Alessandro Danescu is a young artist who loves music and wants to share this feeling with as many people as possible. I wanted to keep my real name (Alessandro Danescu) as a stage name because I think I am the same person both in music as in real life.
Currently I am a 3rd year student at University Politehnica of Bucharest – Faculty of Aerospace Engineering. I’m an ambitious and hard-working Aquarius. I like going to the gym and to travel.
That’s fascinating! Now we want to ask you about Eurovision. What song from Eurovision history would you have liked to compose or sing and why?
Over time I’ve liked several songs from Eurovision. If it were to choose one song I wished I could have composed it, I must choose Euphoria from Loreen, because it’s a complex song in all its aspects. As for singing, I would have liked to sing 1944 from Jamala and Heroes from Mans Zelmerlow.
Can you tell us what made you submit your song to Selectia Nationala and what is the message behind Breaking Up?
To be completely honest me being part of Selectia Nationala is due to my good friend Calin Giurgiu. Without his involvement I wouldn’t have been in this contest this year. He made it possible for me to record the song in a studio.
Breaking Up, as the title says, has a sad but a strong message. At the beginning it shows how I will never give up on the one I care about because it is irreplaceable. Then the sadness takes over like in a break up. All in all I think the general message is to never give up on the one you love and see them (treat them) like they are irreplaceable.
If it were to win Selectia Nationala, what would it mean to you?
If I would win Selectia Nationala, I would be very proud and happy to be able to represent my country at such a wonderful contest. I think it would be an awesome feeling and I hope to experience it!
What would you like to say to your fans reading this interview?
I want to tell them that they are wonderful people and dear friends. My fans really know how to make me feel cared about. They are warm, loving and I want to thank them from all of my heart for what they are doing for me. I love you all!
Thank you and best of luck!
We would like to remind you that Selectia Nationala 2018 will have five semi-finals and a final on 25 February.
What do you think of Alessandro’s song? Could it be a winner of Selectia Nationala?
