REVIEWS
There is an amazing atmosphere here in the press centre, the area is completely full and it looks amazing. Conchita just blew the roof off and we are ready to go – woohoo!!!!!
Moldova.
Great start to the show. High energy performance and who doesn’t want to see policemen and woman in sexy hot pants shaking what their mamma gave them!!
Armenia.
Probably the most accomplished and professional performers at this years Eurovision, just a shame the song is so sterile and dull! Likely to qualify though
Belgium.
The large flags in the arena are spoiling the look of this performance but Loïc gives a great rendition of ‘Rhthym Inside’ – still a borderline qualifier for me.
Netherlands, The.
Oh you have to love Trinjtje – she looks like she is going to do one of those sky dives in the bat wing suits. It’s an over sized jump suit which looks a bit ridiculous but it is still better than “The Dress” – I love the song but don’t know if it will have enough impact to qualify. Got a great reaction in the hall.
Finland.
Wow well P.K.N. just pulled it out the bag there. I am not a fan of this but the lead singer gave it big licks and performed the arse out of it. I don’t want it to qualify but it could.
Greece.
Greece is not the most exciting entry in the competition but it is simply beautiful. She looks very ‘Celine’ tonight and is performing her heart out. Can’t see this missing out on the final.
Estonia.
If looks could kill? Jings Elina, no wonder he didn’t wake you up – he was scared!!! This is very classy. It has themes of The Netherlands last year and we know how well that did. Surely a finalist and perhaps top 10 placing.
Macedonia.
Aww this is a sweet little song. Daniel is gorgeous but it is just not pushing all the right buttons. Merj (from Blackstreet) can’t save this – in fact they are part of the problem. IT all just looks a bit under rehearsed. Sadly I do not think we will be seeing this on Saturday.
Serbia.
Well Bojana kicked butt on that stage. The Eurovision fans love her and the song got a great reaction in the arena and also in the press centre. Surely this will qualify??
Hungary.
A peace anthem from Hungary. So dull and right after Serbia. I can not find anything redeeming about this song yet I think it will qualify because some people like this “world peace, heal the world” stuff. We may well see Hungary in the final but it may be everyone’s Bog(gie) break! #SeeWhatIDidThere
Belarus.
Great performance from Uzari and Maimuna – nice uptempo number after the dirge that was Hungary. I have felt indifferent about this song but having just witnessed tonight’s performance I think it is a qualifier.
Russia.
There was a display of the LBGT flags right at the start which the camera quickly panned away from however they were visible again later in the performance. Polina was absolutely stunning and what a performance – this is the performance of the semi-final and will sail into Saturday.
Denmark.
It’s sing-a-long time with Denmark! Anti-Social Media are very endearing. They have been having a ball here at Eurovision and they look like they are loving it on stage. This is an ear worm!!!!!! Real fun relaxed song and will likely qualify for the final on Saturday.
Albania.
That was not the best vocal performance I have heard from Elhaida. She is beautiful but I don’t see this into the final. She may be ‘Alive’ now but I don’t think her competition will still be alive come tomorrow morning.
Romania.
Another of our semi 1 participants with a 100% qualification record. I don’t see that changing tonight either. It’s a heart wrenching ballad and will likely please the voting public.
Georgia.
Nina just rocked it!!!! She has recovered from her vocal issues and just performed the butt out of that song! Thank goodness she is well again. Did everything she needed to do – I am hopeful for a qualification for Georgia!!!

I think eurovision was crap I don’t know what the voters are doing I was up for Ireland I think song was good
Surprise qualifier for me was Belgium, dont like it at all. 2 stand out performances for me, Serbia and Russia. Put €2 ew on Russia before the start at 6/1, now they’re gone to 3/1 so Im happy! Also have €1 ew for Armenia at 100/1….now if they could even sneak in 4th….!!!
I had 9/10 with Belarus instead of Albania which was awful imo I enjoyed the show. Watched it at the Village after seeing this afternoon’s family show Didn’t think Russia was as much of the dogs b****x as everyone has made out. Loved Hungary’s more sincere entry to Polina’s fake anthem. Serbia was as camp as Christmas and I’d love it to have done really well. Estonia and Belgium were the big winners for me tonight, excellent. Now roll on SF2.
My ten are ARM, BELG, NETH, GRE,EST, SER, HUN, RUS, ROM, AND GEO.
