The Tolmachevy Sisters rose to the challenge of representing Russia at Eurovision 2014. At a time when Russian politics have taken centre stage and no major artist stood up to the challenge this year of wanting to go to Copenhagen, the Junior Eurovision Winners flew the flag for the country and endured the boos from the audience. Having said that they still managed to make the Top 10 at the contest.

In the days following the win of Conchita Wurst at Eurovision, there has been a mixed reaction to the contest nationally in Russia. Calls to withdraw from the contest by some politicians and the establishment of a competing contest, have all made Russian interest in next years’ contest interesting.

We have read reports today that Russia will be attending Eurovision 2015  in Austria and that the representative will the next winner of ‘The Voice’ of Russia. In 2013 Dina Garipova was the winner of the singing contest in Russia and went on to represent the country at Eurovision.

We have contacted the Heads of the Russian Delegation for official confirmation of this alleged selection process. We will keep you posted as we hear more news.

  1. I disagree with this idea for Eurovision. Shows like The Voice and The X Factor are international brands and their producers do not want any affiliation with the Eurovision Song Contest.
