Iceland will be represented at Eurovision 2013 by Eyþór Ingi Gunnlaugsson and the song “Ég á líf”. It is compulsory for the Icelandic entries to be performed in Icelandic at their national final but then the artist can choose to perform in English or another language at the Eurovision Song Contest itself. The last time an entry from Iceland was performed at Eurovision in Icelandic was back in 1997 when Paul Oscar performed “Minn Hinsti Dans”. Today though it has been confirmed that Eyþór will perform “Ég á líf” in Icelandic in Malmo
Bravo for his decision as the song has gathered a lot of interest in it’s national language. Do you think this is a wise decision? Eyþór is currently putting the finishing touches to his official video for “Ég á líf” as pictured above – one suffers for their art in freezing waters!
