Nikki Kavanagh has confirmed that she is in the hunt to represent Ireland at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna.

We can reveal that Nikki has entered TWO songs into the Irish selection for 2015 and furthermore she is one of the songwriters too.

Nikki came close to representing Ireland at Eurovision in 2011 when she lost out to Jedward’s ‘Lipstick’ by 2 points. Her song ‘Falling’ is a favourite at the Irish Eurovision parties.

Nikki was a backing vocalist for Niamh Kavanagh in Oslo at Eurovision 2010 when Ireland made the final with the song ‘It’s for you’

Nikki also narrowly missed out on being a Eurosong finalist in 2008 with the amazing song ‘Destiny’. That year Ireland sent Dustin the Turkey to Eurovision. A missed opportunity there by the selection panel!

Nikki has provided backing vocals in the Irish National final over the past few years. Speaking to us here at Eurovision Ireland Nikki said

“Everyone knows that I love Eurovision and it is my dream to represent my country at the contest. Being in Oslo was a wonderful experience and now I just feel it is the right time to try again”

Two songs from Nikki sent in for selection – we are very happy at that news!

So the Irish National selection is hotting up with more names expressing their interest in this years contest.

Who would you like to see in the Irish National Selection?

  1. My twin daughters that are sixteen years old have entered a song that i wrote for them called Fly High and i would love people to hear it. They are not famous but their singing and song is CLASS.

  2. I think Nikki Kavanagh has great potential to go far in Eurovision. She can obviously sing and ”Destiny” could have easily brought Ireland into the top 10 or maybe even top 5 in Belgrade. If she can provide us with an even better song than ”Destiny” in 2015, I think she has some serious potential to win in Vienna.

  3. Oisin
Heard she had two songs one written by herself and Niall Mooney ..It’s called One Soul I believe but not sure

  4. Okay this is getting really exciting, seriously with all this talent entering rte has an opportunity to put on a really big show!
