RÚV, the Icelandic national broadcaster, have held discussions around participation, at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, in Burgas.

The RÚV Board have stated their support for a continuation of the broadcaster’s boycott of the Eurovision Song Contest. Six of the nine members of the RÚV Board, have stated that they wish to see Iceland continue to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest. Those six have asked RÚV’s Director General, the following:

“To notify the EBU that the Icelandic National Broadcasting Corporation will not participate in Eurovision in 2027 unless Israel is barred from participating in the competition. The previous call to the EBU for Israel to be expelled from the competition is reiterated and it is requested that the Director-General convey this reiteration.”
