Hi dear reader. I know you are as excited as we are, but you’re just a tiny bit too early. Please do come back at 21:00 CET or 20:00 BST. Just make sure you bring your popcorn ;-)

Just 15 minutes left! Tonight is incredibly important, as professional juries will be watching and casting their votes.

The grand final of Eurovision 2025 will be hosted by three incredible women: Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker, and Sandra Studer. Brugger and Studer also hosted the semi-finals earlier in the week.

20:03 We are here, don’t worry. We’re just waiting for the live feed.

20.14 – After a travelogue of Switzerland bringing the microphone trophy to Basel, we get the customary parade of all of the acts. No non-national flags on stage of course.

20.15 – Sandra and Hazel are joined by Michelle Hunziker for the Grand Final

20.16 – Are we ready to start? Yes, we most definitely are. After a fast countdown from 10 to 1.

20.18 – You will have seen the postcards for the acts, so we don’t need to describe them. Save to say they all show off Switzerland and it’s culture (And cheese, naturally)

20.22 – An interesting opener from Norway – maybe not quite a banger, but it does have a crowd-pleasing vibe. Kyle still seems nervous but does know what he’s doing. We get energetic choreography, lots of flame and full use of the stage. But Kyle struggles with the odd note here and there. I can’t see us being in Norway next year.

20.26 – Luxembourg next. Laura starts off on the stage floor, with that being her back drop. Then it’s quickly on her feet for the bouncy song that was maybe the main rival to Emmy last night. It’s slick, with her five red-velvet-clad dancers setting this off nicely. I detect the very odd note missed, but probably not enough to make a massive difference. Of course we get a costume change before the song’s climax. It’s noticeable that for the final chorus she warbles several high notes whilst the recorded backing track does the heavy lifting. But not a bad effort.

20.30 – On to Estonia. A song that has divided opinion for months. You want novelty and the like? This is for you. He also seems to miss the odd note. The song bounces along as only it can do, and then we get the ‘stage invasion’. The invader definitely definitely didn’t do her stuff on Tuesday. It’s OK, not a winner.

20.34 – Song four comes form Israel. Another one that has generated headline of all descriptions lately. Yuval is in a black frock with batwings. The staging is also very dark. The spiral staircase, central on the stage, comes into its own for the second chorus as Yuval ascends it. The batwings get shown off most during the final chorus, when we also get the golden pyros falling from the stage ceiling. Her sleeves don’t get caught in the staircase this time.

20.38 – Lithuania’s Katarsis are next. This is very serious, as it was last night. Lukas doesn’t smile at all. As a song, it’s very well constructed. And the band commands the stage. Definitely one for the angst-ridden youth watching. Could spring a surprise.

20.40 Spain: Melody – “ESA DIVA”. Spain brings the fire with Melody’s performance of “ESA DIVA.” She is a force of nature on stage, leading a vibrant and sassy performance with sharp choreography. The staging is colourful and high-energy, perfectly matching the song’s confident and empowering vibe. Melody knows how to work the camera but also how to engage the audience.

20.43 Ukraine next with Ziferblat – “Bird of Pray”. We have the same performance and costumes as in the semi final. The band’s outfits lean heavily into a captivating 1970s aesthetic, creating a unique and memorable atmosphere that complements their alternative rock sound. Of course the lead singer catches the light again at the end of the performance.

20.47 We have a short break after the first 7 acts have performed. Our hosts are inviting us to smile a do a huge wave.

20.49 Sandra is singing again on the Eurovision stage. I actually love that song in Italian. And now we have a more dancing version of ‘Volare’ (Nel blu dipindo di blu).

20.52 A member of the audience is asked to announce the next act. The lady says, “What?” Funny.

20.53 Time now for the United Kingdom. Remember Monday – “What The Hell Just Happened?”. Remember Monday delivers a polished and engaging performance of their catchy power-pop song. Their tight harmonies are a highlight, and the staging is bright and energetic. I think what I like the most is the joy these girls are transmitting. Loved it!

20.57 Austria is up next with JJ – “Wasted Love”. JJ is delivering a performance similar to what we’ve seen in the semis. He is vocally stunning. The staging is highly theatrical, featuring a dramatic seascape set that intensifies as the song progresses, culminating in a powerful visual moment that matches his incredible vocal climax.

21.01 Up next is Iceland. VÆB – “RÓA”. I must admit I was a bit skeptical about this entry but you should see me tapping my feet. This a feel-good song and I bet all Europe is rowing with them. The performance and outfits are the same to what we’ve seen in the semi. I just love how they dance in and out of the boat and their energetic vibe. The audience is having a good time and so are we.

21.06 Another short break when we see again the presenters who stick their tongues at us. How rude ahhaha.

21.07 Latvia next. Tautumeitas – “Bur Man Laimi”. Tautumeitas are again giving us perfect harmonies. Their unique blend of chanting might captivate again the audience like last night. And here it is, you can hear the audience clapping along. Their unique blend of folk and electronic music was definitely memorable – what you want in a Eurovision final, no?
21.12 One of the bookie’s favourite. The Netherlands is up next. Claude – “C’est La Vie”. Claude delivers a solid vocal performance which starts quite intimate then bursts with choreography, violinists and goes back to intimacy – dancing in the mirror with what is supposed to be himself as a child.

21.16 Now another moment we’ve been waiting for. Finland: Erika Vikman – “ICH KOMME”. Erika is a true rockstar on the Eurovision stage! Her performance is incredibly powerful and confident. The staging matches the song’s themes of pleasure and ecstasy, making this a bold and unforgettable act. That mic stand will always remind me of “It Hurts” from 2004.

21.20 Now the hosts are mocking the old formats CDs and DVDs while announcing that both are available for purchasing on Eurovision.tv

21.22 Italy: Lucio Corsi – “Volevo Essere Un Duro”. Italy presents a quirky and theatrical performance that reflects Lucio Corsi’s unique artistic style. Lucio is a great storyteller and this soft ballad feels like fresh air in a midnight summer’s day.

21.25 Poland is next: Justyna Steczkowska – “GAJA”. Justyna delivers a visually striking and powerful performance. Adorned in a warrior-inspired outfit, she is dramatically raised towards the ceiling. The stage features a fierce prehistoric monster backdrop, energetic backing dancers, and pyrotechnics, creating a truly epic scene. Justyna’s vocals are on point and the audience is totally into her performance. Could Poland be another dark horse this year?

21.29 Time now for Germany. Abor & Tynna – “Baller”. Germany brings the heat with Abor & Tynna’s high-energy hip-hop performance. The song’s staging leans into an industrial, gritty aesthetic. We have strobe lighting, a massive boombox prop, and a warehouse party vibe. I’m enjoying this and looks like the audience has also enjoyed it.

21.34 Go to esc.vote and also dowload the app we are told.

21.35 We are shown some behind the scenes moments and how the staging is prepared and props are being brought in and out of the stage.

21.38 Greece is on the stage next. Klavdia – “Asteromáta”. Greece offers a contemporary pop performance with subtle traditional undertones. Klavdia delivers her song with heartfelt emotion. The staging is what we saw in the semi, including the burning tree in the background. Another great vocal performance tonight. The juries won’t have an easy task.

21.43 Armenia: PARG – “SURVIVOR”. PARG knows exactly where the camera is and how to captivate the audience. The performance is anthemic and you cannot help but to sing along ‘I’m a survivor’. Doesn’t hurt that at some point PARG is giving us a cheeky smile.

21.47 To follow Armenia we have next Switzerland: Zoë Më – “Voyage”. Our host country presents a beautiful and intimate performance. No need for gimmicks when you sing from the heart. I love how the warm back-light illuminates Zoe and then we see the audience’s lights like stars.

21.52 Malta: Miriana Conte – “SERVING”. Miriana Conte is serving confidence and energy on stage! Her performance is sassy and dynamic, featuring bold choreography and vibrant visuals, including the memorable giant red lips prop, making it a truly entertaining spectacle.

21.55 Up next is Portugal. NAPA – “Deslocado”. Another performance tonight that is not about gimmicks but an intimate feeling. The performance has a nostalgic feeling. It makes me dream but I’m no sure if it’s a good or a bad thing.

22.00 Denmark: Sissal – “Hallucination” is on the stage. I must admit, this is one of my guilty pleasures this year. I can’t stop singing it randomly. “. Denmark presents a captivating and rhythmic performance. Sissal’s distinctive vocals are at the forefront, complemented by visuals and lighting designed to create a hypnotic and slightly disorienting effect, perfectly capturing the song’s title. No matter the final position on the scoreboard, I’m happy Denmark is back in the finals.
22.04 We are told the song from the semi that the hosts sang, “Made in Switzerland” has gone viral.
22.05 Sweden: KAJ – “Bara Bada Bastu” are up next. The fan favourites from Sweden bring the sauna party to Basel! KAJ deliver their incredibly catchy song with infectious energy, complete with bucket hats, towels, and a performance that is pure, unadulterated fun. The arena is singing along and so am I!

22.10 Only 3 more countries left to perform.

22.11 We are shown different people from Basel singing to Fuego, The Code, Arcade, etc.

22.13 Next is France: Louane – “maman”. France offers a deeply emotional and personal performance. Louane delivers her heartfelt ballad with sincerity and powerful vocals. The staging includes evocative elements like falling sand that visually represent the passage of time. Could this win the jury vote?

22.17 San Marino follows France with Gabry Ponte – “Tutta L’Italia”. San Marino delivers a high-energy Eurodance party! Gabry Ponte brings his iconic sound to the stage with a performance full of pulsating beats designed to make you feel like you’re celebrating in Italy. One can’t stand still when Ponte is your dj.

22.22 The final act of tonight. Albania: Shkodra Elektronike – “Zjerm”. Closing the show is Albania with a powerful and dramatic performance. Shkodra Elektronike uses striking red and black colours in their staging and the lead singer’s dazzling red dress, creating an intense visual that matches the fiery energy of their song. Of course we have the armography that we all got used to and love by now.

22.26 There you have it. All acts have performed and now it’s the time for the juries to cast their vote.

Of course the show continues but our coverage will end now to not spoil any surprises left.

22.27 Thank you to everyone who joined us tonight and stay tuned for all Eurovision news. May the best act win tomorrow!
