#BIRTHDAY: Samanta Tīna from Latvia is 33 today

For some, taking part in our favourite TV show becomes all-consuming. They try, and try, and try to win that golden ticket to a city somewhere in or near Europe, desperately wanting the chance to show us all how good they are at singing.

Today’s birthday girl Samanta Tīna (née Samanta Poļakova) is one of those triers. Five times she tried to get through Latvia’s Supernova competition. It was only in 2020 that she won. And we all know what happened in 2020. Fast forward one year and LTV decided she should still go to Rotterdam. And she did. But what happened in Rotterdam? Well she unfortunately found points very hard to come by. Small reward for her persistence. As we know, others have done spectacularly well at a second attempt, so Samanta could come back one day and stun us all.
