#BIRTHDAY: Kasia Moś from Poland is 35 today

Are you a native English speaker? If not, than if writing a song wasn’t bad enough, writing a song in another language must be very difficult. So when a lyric comes along that might appear simple, you may want to think about secondary languages.

Our friends in Poland have in recent years excelled at the Junior version of our favourite TV show. But they’ve yet to really make a mark since that famous début in 1994. In 2017, broadcaster TVP sent Katarzyna ‘Kasia’ Moś with high hopes. She won a close national final, beating off a previous entrant in the process. Kasia made the Grand Final in Kyiv, and the neighbourly thing may have gone in her favour to a degree. She finished 22nd, getting about two thirds of her points from the televote. Getting to a Grand Final is an achievement these days, so it’s not to be sneezed at. And she performed second too. Poland has yet to make a Grand Final since. Kasia therefore is currently TVP’s benchmark for success.
