#BIRTHDAY: Tusse from Sweden is 20 today

A new year, with a whole new set of opportunities to get on. We know that in May someone – possibly Italy – will win the Grand Prix of our favourite TV show. In the meantime, we get oodles of national finals to come. And of course, birthdays.

In Rotterdam we did get a contest in 2021, even if it wasn’t quite the contest we wanted. The right country won, and today’s birthday boy Tusse (né Tousin Michael Chiza) represented a country many fans (but not all) wet themselves over. His back story has become the stuff of legend, so we won’t go into it here. In the Netherlands, Tusse made the final, but with all the fun and games, sheer lunacy, and new rock n roll. his song was perhaps overlooked a little. He didn’t even get a single maximum. But he does have a cracking back story.
