Eesti Laul has seen a total of 156 songs submitted for the 2021 Contest. While only 63 of the songs submitted are in Estonian, the remaining 93 are in English, French, Russian or Spanish.
A jury will select the 24 songs that go through to the semi finals – however this will only be 23 if Uku Suviste has decided to take part, as he will have an automatic pass after this year’s Eurovision Song Contest was cancelled. Here is a reminder of Uku Suviste’s “What Is Love?”:
Tomi Rahula, Eesti Laul Producer, had the following to say:
“Among the participants there are artists who have been very successful in Eesti Laul in the past, but there are also those who are still completely unknown to the wider audience. The selection is diverse in every way and will definitely surprise the jury.”
The 24 participating acts will be announced next Wednesday (November 11th) and Thursday (November 12th). The songs will then be revealed during December.
