Good evening everyone! We’ll be starting soon. Stay tunned 🙂 Have you got your popcorn/ chips ready?

We would have liked to have a youtube live link, but unfortunately we have to work with what we’ve got. Bare with us!

And we’re live with some masked dancers …

I will love you unconditionally … A dedication to?

SunStroke Project Now singing their song! Did you miss the Epic Sax guy?

I appologize for any delays and the quality of the pics,  but the live stream is just horrible!

The hosts of tonight Sergiu and Evelina are trying to get us in the mood.

The lines for voting will be opened after all the acts have finished performing their songs.

Ok, it’s time to start the competition!

  1. Tolik “Broken Glass”

Tolik has a strong voice and the song sounds like an anthem. I like it. A very strong start for Moldova. tolik

I wouldn’t mind at all if this song gets selected. A strong performance and I really enjoyed that.

2. Lavinia Rusu “Altundeva” or in English Somewhere Else

Lavinia has good vocals tonight and two dancers in white. I like that she sings in Romanian. I don’t know if this is a strong enough song, but I enjoy it.

3. Bella Luna “Moments”

This duo presents us tonight a lovely ballad, but a little bit dated. I would have enjoyed this in a contest from the early 90’s. 3

Still, I can’t fault their vocals. Good effort!

4. Anna Timofei “Endlessly”

This song sounds like a combination between a spell/chant and a whining. I’m not sure if I like it. There’s something that makes me not enjoy it. 4a

No, it’s a no for me unfortunately.

Ad break 🙂

And we have some images from the Green Room. Everybody tries to convince the people at home to vote for them.

The slogan of the night is Home means Moldova (Acasa inseamna Moldova)

5. Ilia Sorocean & Dasha DaGro”Minds & Veins”

It has a modern sound, but I’m not sure. Could grow on me. I just don’t like the chorus.

I think it is to repetitive. I don’t like to hear so many times ” In our hearts and veins”.

Having said that, I do have to admit that the rhytm is quite enjoyable.

6. Che MD “Inima-n Stîngă” (Heart on the Left)

Che is not at his first attempt. I do enjoy this folkloric rock, but I don’t think the level of presentation is quite there.

It reminds me of Zdob si Zdub, which is a good think I guess. A thing is for sure, it’s not borring. I think it’s his best effort so far.

7. Constantin Cobîlean “Numai Tu” (Only You)

A classic rock sound. I didn’t expect that as I didn’t listen to the songs in Moldova’s selection so far (with a few exceptions).

It’s enjoyable, but I’m not sure if it’s the right choice for Lisbon. But I enjoy it!

Must be in a rockish mood tonight!

8. DoReDos “My Lucky Day”

One of the favourites of tonight. Will this be their lucky day?

Balkan sounds combined with modern instruments, smart suits and moving pannels.

I enjoyed it, but it looked a bit forced. The song is there, but in my opinion the performance looked a bit chaotic. Still, I think it could win tonight.

And we’re back in the green room.

9. SandyC & Aaron Sibley “Once Upon a Time”

It reminds me of Playing With Numbers (Ireland) but their voices don’t blend so well. I’m sorry to say this but her voice kind of ruins the song.

Might be just nerves. I appreciate the effort, but it’s a no for me again.

10. Anna Odobescu “Agony”

Yes … Agony because of the earlier song.

Anna has a really good voice, a bit raspy which is a plus for me, but the song is so so dated. A ballad I wish to send back in the 80’s. 10a

11. Nicoleta Sava “Esencia del Sur”

My guilty pleasure of the night. I really enjoy this mix of Romanian and Spanish.

I don’t know if it’s powerful enough, but I like to sing along. Do you feel the South essence?

And Nicoleta took her role seriously. Moldova or Spain.. or a Moldovan in Spain?

Latinos let’s get wild!

12. Doinița Gherman “Dance in Flames”

Doinita is no stranger to Eurovision Moldova. Will this be her year?

We remain with latino rhytms. English and Romanian language and lots of caliente moments. With a bot of working, this could do well in Lisbon. I like!

But please ditch the golden “muscle dancer” it just looks weird. Other than that, a good effort for entertainment.

Or just give it to us :))

13. Felicia Dunaf “Alien”

Another returnee at the Moldova’s selection, Felicia looks good and has great vocals. The song reminds me of a Rita Ora’s song. But I like it. I think that improvements can be made at presentation, but I enjoyed it. Still it feels more like a demo version of something that has potential.

14. Viorela “The Gates of Love”

The begining made me giggle. She pretends to play the violin, then a little girl comes and takes the violin from her. That was so primary school moment.

Decent voice, but the song goes nowhere. I don’t think she can open the gates of votes tonight.

14. Vera Țurcanu “Black Heart”

Slow rhytm with a lots o bass and cold electric guitar. The performance is quite modern and reminds me a tiny little bit of Rhytm Inside. But just a little.

It has a dark sound and I like it. Though I don’t know how much it will appeal to the Moldovan public.

16. Ruslan Tsar “Come to Life”

The last competitor of the night.

Straight from the early 90’s we have a remake of “Don’t Stop Believing”.

It’s not as bad as I thought, but this can’t be taken as a serious contender for winning.

Congrats for the effort!

And those were all the acts of tonight. Now we’re back in the green room again.

This is it. Moldova START VOTING!

The public has 20 minutes to vote. Their votes will be transformed into points form 1 to 12 like in the pure Eurovision style.

We’ve just finished seeing the recap of all of tonight’s show. Who’s your favourite?

I’ll give you my top 5 (random order):

  1. Tolik “Broken Glass”
  2. DoReDos “My Lucky Day”
  3. Doinița Gherman “Dance in Flames”
  4. Felicia Dunaf “Alien”
  5. Doinița Gherman “Dance in Flames”

And of course a special mention to the “spanish” girl Nicoleta Sava “Esencia del Sur”.

That was hillarious! After a moment of presenting Lisbon we were back again in the Green Room: Silence! And then a voice shouted: “Applause!” and everybody started clapping.

Moldova STOP voting!

Now we have our first interval act “Hora Mare” … Hai la hora din Moldova!

I’m curious who’s going to win tonight O Melodie Pentru Europa 2018. The bookies saw as an early winner the group DoReDoS. Do you agree?

After an ad break, we’ll be back with SunStroke Project.

They are singing their song “Day After Day”.

SunStroke never dissapoint live. They always put on a show!

Hopefully soon we’ll hear know the votes from the jury. I guess we’ll have to wait a bit more longer. I will never understant why they have to take so much time to give the points. The public voted. Please hurry up!

At least I’m dancing to SunStroke’s music 😀 The Sun gets down .. na nana nannana

Shame this can’t go to Lisbon! It’s better than all of tonight’s competing songs!

Philipp Kirkorov is now praising his students DoReDoS…

First 12 points from the jury goes to DoReDos. Apparently all 12 points go to DoReDos.

The jury points are as follows:

Congratulations to DoReDoS and hope you enjoyed our blog. Good night and see you tomorrow!
