MRT announced in November 2016 that Jana Burčeska would sing for Macedonia in Kyiv this May. Now it seems they’re a step closer to finding her song too!
The Macedonian broadcaster made an open call for songs late last year and has finally agreed on a shortlist of potential entries for Jana to sing. While they have not commented on how many songs are on this shortlist, they did reveal that over 100 songs were submitted with the hope of being Macedonia’s next Eurovision song.
When talking about that hopes for the song, MRT have said they want something that is modern, yet brings Macedonian culture to the European stage – sounds fantastic to us!
