AUSTRIA : Conchita Wurst is Victorious and #Unstoppable at the Amadeus Music Awards

‘You Are Unstoppable’ Miss Conchita Wurst as our Queen of Eurovision wins 3 of the top awards at the Austrian Amadeus Music Awards.

The Amadeus Music Awards are one of the most prestigious in Europe and Conchita was nominated in 3 categories and was victorious in all three.

The first Award that Conchita won tonight was ‘Video of the Year’ for the stunning ‘Heroes’.

That was followed up with her second win which was for ‘Song Of The Year’ for her Eurovision winning ‘Rise Like A Phoenix’. This was an emotional moment in the show where Conchita deservedly had a standing ovation from the Austrian audience.

The third nomination for Conchita was for ‘Female Artist of the Year’ and as they say it was a Full House as Conchita won that award too. Bravo Austria!

There was also a sad though fitting award for the late Udo Jürgens – who was Austria’s first ever winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. He won ‘Best Male Artist’.

Conchita is #Unstoppable! Next stop in Conchita’s New Album that will be released on May 15th and then Presenting Eurovision 2015 but we hopefully have a surprise for you before then 😉

Congratulations Conchita and we miss you Udo!

  1. Hi there again

The Austrian music industry has proven its reference with Conchita. One can aptly discuss whether Conchita Wurst has “cleared” to right at this year’s Amadeus, and for me now it has become a strange event. I admit that any other austrian musician would have been much better choice. Causing that Conchita Wurst is not a real full-blooded musician. Conchita has created these fictional character and we should be grateful and thankful to him. He has made significant steps to reduce prejudices. If there were a Nobel Prize for European tolerance, Conchita would be for me the first choice. But, the world dreamed career as a pop singer will not take place because Conchita is primarily a “Celebrity” which may also sing. And then only in very limited ways. Languishing ballads are just unable to see the pop charts hardly because they do not play well as the European Radio format. “Rise Like A Phoenix”, although after Song Contest victory quickly landed in the charts but just as quickly disappeared. Conchita’s manager, René Berto, does have experience of the national marketing of the Comedian ALF Pojer, but not a basic understanding of the international music industry. Especially high-profile American producers and composers is Conchita “sausage”- nothing. In the United States (at the Golden Globes 2015) he was simply unnoticed. Now In May 2015 the long overdue album appears. High hopes for international success we should not have. Nevertheless, be advised caution: High Medial presence as “Celebrity” can quickly turn into the opposite and reverse the tolerance thoughts of a EUROPE 2015.

    best regards, Leo Vienna

  2. Yay, all the voting hadn’t been in vain! Nor getting next to no sleep last night but it was worth it, congratulations from me too. You could see that RLAP means so much to her when she held her little speech. Next year she’s going to win ‘Album of the Year’ ❤ I'm looking forward to your surprise and of course to the ESC 2015.
