The 5 acts will perform and the winner is determined by a 50/50 Jury and Public Vote. The jury members are Spanish Stars Mónica Naranjo, David Bustamante and Merche.

Andrew James Main here who has zipped across Europe all the way from Sweden to cover the Final here in Spain.

After an intro we are getting a brief piece of each song before we move onto the main part of the show.

Lots of chat it always amazes me how quickly the Spanish speak.

We are now being introduced to the jury.

We are now getting the recap of all songs with the numbers to ring.

  • Brequette – Más (Run) (Thomas G:son / Tony Sanchez)

First song is the lovely looking Brequette with Mas. This is very modern sounding like Rihanna.

The vocals are good and real strong she looks very confident. Her high notes are stunning.

it gets a great reception from the audience.

We then get a chat with the hostess and Brequette and she receives a present of a picture collage from her son.

She is in tears, this is so X Factor and she will get lots of votes.

  • Dama – Estrella Fugaz (Shooting Star) (Melendi)

We have a wind machine for this song, Dama is lovely in a white flowing dress. This is an uptempo

dance number at times and also sounds very Spanish. Reminds me of Coral from a few years back.

The vocals are slightly off at times but overall not too bad. A reasonable reaction from the audience.

The jury give their thoughts and its all Spanish to me.  She receives a gold necklace as her gift

and she is now in tears too.  This is the best ever National Final. Need to go get more hankies.

We get a recap of all the songs after every song.

  • Ruth Lorenzo – Dancing In The Rain (Ruth Lorenzo / Jim Irvin / Julian Emery

Now we have Ruth Lorenzo in a stunning dress. Her voice is just perfect a great performance of an average song.

She has 3 backing singers one of which looks like Brequette.  A great performance from a strong singer.

She also got a great reaction from the audience and the jury seemed to love her too.

We get a video of her Mum wishing her well. Her gift is a picture of the Little Mermaid(in Spanish) it was her first

movie she went to see with her mother, more tears.

  • Jorge González – Aunque Se Acabe El Mundo (Even If The World Ends) (Kiko Rodríguez / Bruno Nicolás / Leticia Fuentes / María José Fernández)

Next up we have Jorge a very pretty guy indeed. His vocals are very good. A decent up-tempo Spanish pop song.

He is accompanied by 4 backing dancers. A very good performance this is proving to be a very difficult final to call.

He is getting his gift now which is his sons jump suit and the son is still not born!

  • Raúl – Seguir Sin Ti (Go On Without You) (William Duque & Domingo Sánchez)

Last but by no means least  is Raul who came 2nd in Spain in 2000. A mid tempo ballad that is typically Spanish.

Lots of mood and swaying latin vocal.  Another good vocal performance here. It doesn’t have the same modern feel

as the other songs but it is another great performance in a very exceptional final.

Raul is the only finalist who does not cry after his video and gift.

Our prediction here from Gracielands is very close.

One point separates first and second. Ruth is first then Brequette.

Jorge is 3rd then it is Dama but overall we are all impressed by the standard of all 5 songs.

We are still awaiting a result in Spain. What are bets it will be midnight?

We have lost the Spanish feed now.

We are back on the TVE feed.

RESULT

Jury results give Brequette top with first jury.

Brequette top with 2nd jury member.

Brequette top with third jury member.

Result from Jury is Brequette 1st and Ruth Lorenzo 2nd.

Now we have the televote result.

Ruth Lorenzo is the winner in Spain

She won the televote with Brequette 2nd but Ruth goes to  Eurovision as the televote takes precedent.

She did not realise she had won such an amazing reaction.

Thank you and good night from what has been a rollercoaster of a night in Eurovisionland.
