Europe had written Greece off as a possible entrant at Eurovision 2014. However news we are receiving is that there is a strong possibility that Greece will be in Copenhagen.
With the closing of the Greek National Broadcaster ERT – it was feared that Greece would not be joining Eurovision next year. However our sources have told us that the newly restructured state broadcaster NERIT could be announced as a member of the EBU hopefully by early December.
There is a strong possibility that NERIT may work in conjunction with MAD TV to stage a Greek National Selection Final. Greek Press have even gone as far as to speculate on who will contest the National Final. According to Oikotimes 2 artists are strongly tipped to be included in the selection – Kostas Martakis and Crystallia.
You may remember Kostas Martakis from the Greek National Final of 2008 with his song “Always and Forever” – that came second behind “My Secret Combination” by Kalomira
Also rumoured is Loucas Yiorkas (though his management have not confirmed this as of yet) who represented Greece at Eurovision in 2011.
Official confirmation on Greece at Eurovision 2014 should be released in the coming 3 weeks or even sooner.
