The Netherlands National Broadcaster TROS, announced that they will be revealing their artist for Eurovision 2014 on November 25th. Since that statement there have been some developments that have several of our Dutch readers in a state of excitement.
Many have touted Ilse DeLange as the artist that will be representing The Netherlands. She was recently on Dutch tv and was asked if she would sing at Eurovision? She answered ” “A couple of years ago I would have said no, but Anouk has shown the way and now it could be interesting to do.”
However the news has taken a further step when Cornald Maas (The Dutch Mr Eurovision) tweeted a message saying that “It’s not exactly what everyone thinks”. He signed his tweet off “Holladiejee“
The use of the word “Holladiejee” has people talking. Usually it meant in terms of “Hurrah” but can also be read (so I have been reliably informed) as Hollandse DJ meaning simply “a Dutch DJ”. Speculation has now turned to names like Armin van Buuren, DJ Afrojack or DJ Tiësto etc. All of them have been mentioned during the Summer on various news articles about a possible Dutch Eurovision involvement. Further speculation is that DeLange could be the composer of the song and that another singer will perform it.
That name being mentioned is Waylon. He is a Dutch singer with a great blues and rock voice. Well known in The Netherlands his mixture of blues and dance music could fit into the DJ speculation. Here is his video for “Wicked Way” that we are fond of!

omg @Songfestivalweblog on twitter just reported a rumour that was on RTL Boulevard about Waylon singing & the song is being written by Ilse & produced by Armin. YOU GUYS TOTALLY PREDICTED IT !! But so far it’s just a rumour & won’t officially know till the 25th

Yeah definitely :D I can’t wait!! I love all the speculations & rumours flying around. It’s the best part before Eurovision cause of all the excitement haha. & yah just read it :D That would be really cool if either of them participate. I hope Nerit gets EBU membership & all sorted in time :D

Fingers crossed!! & omg the rumours still go mad. On Facebook, Armin posted a comment denying the rumours that he is producing a song for Eurovision.. A Dutch news show called “Show Vandaag” apparently reported that Ilse will go to Eurovision accompanied with 2 other people (one probably being Waylon) & the blogger guessed an accompanying DJ called DJ Sander Kleinenberg cause he’s working on one of Ilse’s songs. Would be so cool to have a DJ in the contest. Dutch DJs have been charting the DJ mag top 100 for awhile now & dance music is becoming more integrated into the contest. It would neat even if they worked behind the scenes on the song like Avicii did
