Former Russian Eurovision contestant Alexei Vorobyov/ Alex Sparrow, is set to star in the Hollywood upcoming horror movie “The Vatican Tapes,” it has been reported today in the film industry company “The Wrap”.

Alexei will appear along with the Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou (In America and Blood Diamond) and Scottish actor Dougray Scott in the film, which tells the story of “a 27-year-old woman who begins to have a devastating effect on anyone close to her, causing serious injury and death.” Exorcists from the Vatican are summoned to exorcise the demon but “it proves to be an ancient satanic force more powerful than they imagined.”

Vorobyov represented Russia at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, finishing in 16th place.  He was seriously injured in a car accident in Los Angeles in January, but thankfully he has made a full recovery and has gone on to play recent concerts this June in Smolesnsk and Ulyanovsk.

Shooting on the “The Vatican Tapes” begins next month.
