According to our good friends at escXtra – Austria could be opting for an Internal selection for their Eurovision 2014 act. Despite a triumphant return to Eurovision in 2011 where they reached the Eurovision Grand Final – the country has failed to qualify for the final for the last 2 years.

Last year saw a new format for the selection of the Austrian National final, yet Natália Kelly could only reach 14th in Semi Final 1. Several media outlets are apparently saying that ORF (Austrian National Broadcaster) may revert to an internal selection. Time will tell.

Better times for Austria and one of our favorite Eurovision songs from them – 1999 Bobby Singer with the song “Reflection” who came 10th in the contest.
