With Copenhagen not having Parken Stadium available to host Eurovision 2014 – Betting company Betsafe and others have installed Herning and the “Boxen Arena” as the the evens favorite to be named as the Eurovision 2014 host city and stadium.

Once the announcement that “Parken Stadium” was not available for Eurovision 2014, the odds on Herning to host the contest shortened dramatically. From a production point of view, Herning is far easier now for Danish Broadcaster DR. Copenhagen’s bid now lies with 2 temporary structures in the  B&W Hallen by the docks and DR Byen.

It seems as if the Herning bid is building momentum also with the Danish Eurovision Fan Clubs. The only stumbling block for Herning is accommodation – but with help from neighboring towns, this could be overcome. Horsens is still in the race though considered to be the dark horse in the betting odds – but they have also benefited from the removal of Parken from the race to host Eurovision 2014.
