Several Eurovision Acts have received World Music Award nominations for 2013. Tha annual awards ceremony is hosted by Prince Albert of Monaco. Is this a sign that Eurovision is becoming more relevant in the music industry today? As we already posted in our earlier article, Italian Eurovision Representative Marco Mengoni has received 5 nominations but he is not the only Eurovision artist to have been recognised by the selection jury.
Eurovision 2012 winner Loreen has received 2 nominations
- Best Single for “Euphoria”
- Best Female Artist
Eurovision Winner 2008 Dima Bilan and Emin who was the Interval Act at the Eurovision Grand Final in Baku last year have also been nominated in the same categories
- Best Male Artist
- Best Live Act
- Best Entertainer of the year
Eurovision Winner 1988 Celine Dion takes 2 nominations
- Best Female Artist
- Best Live Act
Eurovision seems to be coming back into the forum of popular music again – where it belongs.
