Milli Secim Turu 2013 - Final

Milli Secim Turu 2013 – Final

The time has arrived for the final of the mammoth 3 month search for the winner of Milli Secim Turu 2013 and the Azeri representative at Eurovision 2013. As you know we have loved the 5 night a week Azeri selection process where it was Eurovision Monday every Monday. Now at 18:00 (CET) we will have the final of Milli Secim Turu 2013.

Venue and Hosts

Leyla Aliyeva and Tural Asadov will present the final of Milli Secim Turu from the Buta Palace in Baku. This is the venue where the running order draw for the Semi Finals of Eurovision 2012 took place. The National Music Group will be performing a medley of Azeri Eurovision classics throughout the show.

The 10 weekly qualifiers will now compete in the national final. They are as follows

Vugar Muradov,

Ravana Aliyeva,

Farah Hadiyeva,

Leyla Aliyeva,

Leyla Gafari,

Farid Mammadov,

Nigar Huseynova,

Vlada Akhundova

Valeriya Huseynzadeh and

Aysel Babayeva

We have never seen a male soloist represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision. Could this be the year that it changes? We have our eye on Fərid Məmmədov who put in an amazing performance of Donny Montell’s “Love is Blind” when he won his weekly heat.

WHERE CAN I WATCH THE SHOW

18.00 CET on Ictimai terrestrial channel
18:00 CET on Ictimai via satellite (Hotbird)
18:00 CET on esctoday.com – AT      http://www.esctoday.com/live/
18:00 CET webcast on official Ictimai website – AT  http://az.itv.az/canlitv.php

With Azerbaijan never-failing to make the top 10 at Eurovision since they debuted in the contest in 2008 – and with no Turkey in the contest this year – could Azerbaijan inherit the Turkish diaspora across Europe in the tele-vote and bring us all back to Baku in 2014? A strong possibility with the caliber of performers they have this year – if given a good song.
