Azerbaijan continued the search for their 2013 entrant to the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmo. The were back after a week’s hiatus for the holiday season and they came back with a flurry pf potential candidates.

Their weekly search for the Azeri Eurovision Representative “Milli Seçim Turu” continued the usual format

  • Monday: Eurovision Hits (Our Favourite Night)
  • Tuesday: Azeri Music
  • Wednesday: World Hits
  • Thursday: Stage Performance
  • Friday: Free Style (Participants can sing any song of their choice)

As in normal weeks – the weekly tele votes are combined to the online poll votes and the Jury votes after Friday’s performance. This then gives you a your qualifier fo the final.

The final results were as follows

2 points: Ülviyyə Baxışova
3 points: Vüqar Əliyev
4 points: Oksana Rizayeva
5 points: Group Avantaj Estrada
6 points: Zəka Zeynalov
7 points: Məhrəm Qurbanzadə
8 points: Adil Baxışlı
10 points: Elton İbrahimov
12 points: Fərəh Hadıyeva

So our 3rd finalist will be the beautiful Fərəh Hadıyeva that we had tipped following her Monday night evening performance.

Last Monday she performed Maria Haukaas Storeng’s song from Norway 2008 “Hold On Be Strong” – which seems to be a popular song in Azerbaijan as this is the third time this song has been sung in this years Selection. A good Eurovision song never grows tiresome.

Fərəh Hadıyeva now joins the 2 previous qualifiers which are Vüqar Muradov from heat 1 and Rəvanə Əliyeva from heat 2
