STVR, the Slovakian national broadcaster, had confirmed their continual non-participation, at the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.

STVR have confirmed their continual non-participation at the Eurovision Song Contest. The non-participation has been associated with the high financial costs linked to participating at the Contest. A spokesperson from STVR, had the following to say:

“Participation is considered every year, but given the broadcaster’s current budget situation and the lack of stable management, it was determined very early on that this year’s participation was impossible. When suitable management is in place, we plan to re-evaluate many projects, including Slovakia’s participation in the contest, and if the budget allows, we will try to return to Eurovision.”
