RTVE, the Spanish national broadcaster, have revealed the rules & regulations for Benidorm Fest 2027.
FOLLOWING the opening of applications last week, the rules & regulations for Benidorm Fest 2027 have been revealed – they are:
- The works must be human-created and the use of artificial intelligence will not be permitted.
- Political, advertising and offensive proposals are not allowed.
- Performances must be live, without instruments on stage and with pre-recorded backing tracks.
- Vocal effects will be allowed as long as they do not interfere too much with the main vocals.
- Participant must be 18 years of age no later than Saturday 1st May 2027.
The regulations however, do not include any mention of the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. María Eizaguirre, RTVE’s Director of Communication and Participation, had the following to say back in March:
“Benidorm Fest has Eurovision in its DNA, but it’s also a festival with a life of its own. There are no changes for now. RTVE remains on the same page (on Eurovision).”
