If you could put money on the next country of the Big Five to win, who would you pick? Italy was the last of them to win, but who’s to say that they couldn’t win again?

Aside from winning in Rotterdam, year after year they’ve almost hit the mark. In 2018 Italy’s choice was a duo, consisting of Albanian-born Ermal Meta and today’s birthday boy Fabrizio Moro (né Fabrizio Morici). There’s was an interesting take – an all-male duo with a song that had a stark message. The finishing touch was the subtitles in various languages. Could you get them all? They were the last to perform – always a tricky thing – but the televoters loved them. The jurors slightly less so. But if you want seriousness, then this song is definitely for you.
