
Over the course of October and November, on the lead up to the 2022 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the previous editions of the Contest. Today, we celebrate Rotterdam 2007.
On Saturday 8th December 2007, the 5th Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place at the Ahoy Arena, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The show was hosted by Sipke Jan Bousema and Kim-Lian van der Meij. The Interval Act was provided by Katie Melua, Ch!pz and the 2007 participants.
Four countries debuted in Rotterdam – Armenia, Bulgaria, Georgia and Lithuania. They joined Belarus, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Malta, North Macedonia (then known as FYR Macedonia), Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Sweden, The Netherlands and Ukraine. Croatia and Spain didn’t return for the 2007 edition.
1st Place: Belarus – Alexey Zhigalkovich, “S druz’yami”
2nd Place: Armenia – Arevik, “Erazanq”
3rd Place: Serbia – Nevena Božović, “Piši mi”
