Japan are currently in negotiations to participate, at the inaugural Eurovision Asia 2026, in Bangkok.
Assaf Blecher, Eurovision Asia executive producer, has revealed that negotiations are underway – but it not clear how far the negotiations have gone or with which broadcaster. Speaking to Ynet, Assaf Blecher had the following to say:
“In the first year, our goal is to have 12 to 14 countries participate. Negotiations are underway with Japan, while South Korea, the Philippines, and Vietnam are already involved. Discussions are also underway with other major countries.”
