🇧🇬 #ESC27: BNT Commences The Host City Bidding Today

BNT, Bulgarian national broadcaster, have launched the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest host city bidding process.

BNT today met with the Mayors from Burgas, Plovdiv, Sofia and Varna to commence the host city bidding process, for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest. Sofia and Burgas are viewed as the favourites to host the competition, while Plovdiv’s and Varna’s potential venue would require significant expansion. Cities must meet a series of requirements, for host city status, including:

  • A fully equipped event hall with appropriate capacity and infrastructure
  • Good international connections and sufficient accommodation in the region
  • Clear organisational, security and sustainable implementation capabilities
  • The venue must have the capacity for at least 10,000 people
  • The venue must be available for a period of eight weeks at a minimum, seven weeks before the final and one week after the final

BNT Director General, Milena Milotinova, expects the winner of the process to be announced by the end of July. The European Broadcasting Union and the host broadcaster BNT will determine the city that will host the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest.
