It has been announced that the Barbara Dex Award, which has been in existence since 1997, has come to an end with immediate effect. The award has come to an end due to negative feedback.

Originally launched by House of Eurovision, the award was taken over by Songfestival.be in 2017. Songfestival.be tried to revive the award into the most notable outfit, however the fan community have always associated the award for the worst dressed act.
