LAST YEAR, the European Broadcasting Union launched their new #SayHi campaign – an EBU Kids International Friendship Initiative. The 2020 campaign had the support of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. The 2021 campaign will be launched next Monday, October 18th.
Ahead of the 2021 launch next week, two broadcasters have withdrawn from this year’s campaign, although they hope to return in the future. Annemie Gulickx, the Network Director of Ketnet (Belgium), had the following to say:
“Ketnet will skip this year’s Say Hi due to timing and different priorities.”
Martina Peštaj, Head of Children’s & Youth programmes of RTVSLO (Slovenia), had the following to say:
“Unfortunately, we will not be participating in the SayHi campaign this year. We deeply look forward to joining again next year.”
German broadcaster KiKA and Norwegian broadcaster NRK, have both confirmed participation in this year’s campaign already.
