#JESC20: The EBU Launches #SayHi

Following on from a similar campaign by NRK, the Norwegian national broadcaster and VRT, the Belgian national broadcaster, the European Broadcasting Union is launching #SayHi – an international campaign around friendship, inclusion and anti-bullying.

The European Broadcasting Union had the following to say:

“The Junior Eurovision Song Contest is joining the #SayHi campaign, an EBU Kids International Friendship Initiative! Children across Europe (and beyond!) will be standing together with one clear message: ‘Say hi, be a friend to someone!’. We now invite the entire Junior Eurovision Song Contest family to join the EBU Kids community in promoting the values of friendship, inclusion and social kindness by ‘Saying hi!'”

NRK have produced the Common Song and dance choreography for this year’s international campaign – which can be seen below:

The dance and Common Song (translated into local languages) will be performed on participating broadcasters, on Thursday 12th November, at 11:00 GMT/12:00 CET. The participating broadcasters from Europe and beyond are:

  • Georgia – GPB
  • Germany – KiKA/ZDF
  • Hungary – MTVA
  • Italy – Rai
  • Japan – NHK
  • Kosovo – RTK

  • Slovenia – RTVSLO
  • Spain – RTVE

Coverage of #SayHi will be included at the Opening Ceremony of this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest.
