Best of Eurovision

#POLL – Best of Eurovision – SWEDEN’s Odd Years

We’re back! Building on the success of our Best of the Big 5 series, Eurovision Ireland is now broadening its search for your favourite entries from countries across the continent, spanning the contest’s entire back catalogue – that’s well over 1500 songs!

We asked you which group of countries you wanted us to look at next and thousands of you voted. You wanted us to explore Scandinavia’s Eurovision back catalogues. It’s been quite a journey through Iceland, Finland, Denmark and Norway – meaning our last stop on our Nordic tour is Sweden!

With 6 wins under their belt, an astounding 41 Top 10 finishes and a national selection event that’s almost as big as the contest itself, Sweden really is the Big Daddy of the Scandis when it comes to Eurovision – let’s be honest, the country and the contest are practically synonymous nowadays! And this is before we even mention the fact that Sweden’s first ever Eurovision winner ABBA went on to become one of the biggest selling bands of all time! It was clear we had to save Sweden to last when it came to our Scandinavian polls!

Sweden have sent 60 songs to the Eurovision Song Contest down the years, so we’ve still split the songs between Odd and Even Years as we always do. This week you’ll get to vote for your favourite Swedish entries from their Odd Year Entries – songs that entered in years ending in 1,3,5,7 or 9.

Don’t spot your favourite below? Don’t fret! Even Year Entries are coming next week! As always, the Top 10 entries from both semi finals will then go on to the grand final, where you will vote for your overall winner. Don’t forget, your winner will be entered in the Eurovision Ireland Hall of Fame, so what are you waiting for? Get voting!
