During the duration of the Olympic Games, which are been held in Tokyo, we will be taking a different Eurovision country each day. Today we are looking at Switzerland’s best Eurovision entry, after they took Gold in the Women’s Cross Country Cycling competition.
Switzerland have made the Final of the Eurovision Song Contest a total of 50 times. In 1956, when the Contest took place in Lugano, Switzerland, Switzerland achieved their best position to date with a 1st place. Lys Assia performed “Refrain” and achieved an unknown total of points.
In 1988, when the Contest took place in Dublin, Ireland, Switzerland achieved another 1st place. Celine Dion performed “Ne partez pas sans moi” and achieved a total of 137 points.
