Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we celebrated the countries that participated in this year’s Contest, in Rotterdam. We are now remembering the countries that had previously participated in the Contest – today we remember Armenia.
Armenia debuted at the Contest in 2006, in Athens, Greece. André finished in eighth place, with his entry “Without Your Love”, scoring 129 points.
The most successful entry from Armenia was in 2008 and 2014. In 2008, when the Contest took place in Belgrade, Serbia, Sirusho finished in fourth place with her entry “Qélé, Qélé”, scoring 199 points.
In 2014, when the Contest took place in Copenhagen, Denmark, Aram Mp3 finished in fourth place with his entry “Not Alone”, scoring 174 points.
The most recent Armenian entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Athena Manoukian was due to represent Armenia with her entry “Chains on You”.
