
The UEFA 2020 European Championships are here after a postponement of one year – more commonly known as Euro 2020. Each day, we will upload tracks into our Jukebox articles, to accompany the matches played on that day. Today sees three matches – Ukraine vs. North Macedonia, Denmark vs. Belgium and The Netherlands vs. Austria.
Ukraine – “Wild Dances”
Ruslana represented Ukraine at the 2004 Eurovision Song Contest in Istanbul, Turkey. Ruslana sang “Wild Dances” and finished in 1st place, with a total of 280 points.
North Macedonia – “Ninanajna”
Elena Risteska represented North Macedonia at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Athens, Greece. Elena sang “Ninanajna” and finished in 12th place, with a total of 56 points.
Denmark – “Fly on the Wings of Love”
The Olsen Brothers represented Denmark at the 2000 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden. The Olsen Brothers sang “Fly on the Wings of Love” and finished in 1st place, with a total of 195 points.
Belgium – “Sanomi”
Urban Trad represented Belgium at the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest in Riga, Latvia. Urban Trad sang “Sanomi” and finished in 2nd place, with a total of 165 points.
The Netherlands – “Ding-a-Dong”
Teach-In represented The Netherlands at the 1975 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden. Teach-In sang “Ding-a-Dong” and finished in 1st place, with a total of 152 points.
Austria – “Merci, Chérie”
Udo Jürgens represented Finland at the 1966 Eurovision Song Contest in Luxembourg City, Luxembourg. Udo sang “Merci, Chérie” and finished in 1st place, with a total of 31 points.
