
Over the course of April and May, on the lead up to the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that are participating this year in Rotterdam. Today, we celebrate Russia.
Russia debuted at the Contest in 1994, in Dublin, Ireland. Youddiph finished in ninth place with her entry “Vechny strannik”, scoring 70 points.
The most successful entry from Russia was in 2008, when the Contest took place in Belgrade, Serbia. Dima Bilan finished in first place with his entry “Believe”, scoring 272 points. This included seven sets of twelve points from Armenia, Belarus, Estonia, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine.
The most recent Russian entry was due to be in 2020, when the cancelled Contest was due to take place in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Little Big were due to represent Russia with their entry “Uno”.
This year, Russia will be represented by Manizha with her song “Russian Woman”. Will Manizha take Russia to their second victory?
