
The 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on Saturday 30th November. The event was hosted at Palace Ukraine by Timur Miroshnychenko and Zlata Ognevich. The top 3 were:
1st: Malta – 130 points
2nd: Ukraine – 121 points
3rd: Belarus – 108 points
San Marino made their debut, while both Malta and North Macedonia returned to the Contest. Albania, Belgium and Israel all withdrew from the Contest. This took the number of participating countries to twelve.
So who was awarded the famous 12 points? Five sets of twelve points were awarded to Malta; three sets to Russia and Ukraine; with one set going to Armenia and Belarus. A further set of 12 points was awarded to every country by the EBU, to avoid all countries finishing with no points.
