
Over the course of November and on the lead up to the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we will be celebrating the countries that have participated at the Contest. Today, we celebrate Italy.
Italy debuted at the Contest in 2014, in Marsa, Malta and was also their most successful entry. Vincenzo Cantiello finished in first place with his entry “Tu Primo Grande Amore”, scoring 159 points. This included five sets of twelve points – from the Kid’s Jury, Montenegro, San Marino, Slovenia and the EBU.
The most recent Italian entry was in 2019, when the Contest took place in Gliwice, Poland. Marta Viola finished in seventh place with her entry “La voce della tera”, scoring 129 points. This included one set of twelve points from Ireland.
