
Welcome to Eurovision Ireland’s first ever A-Z of the Eurovision Song Contest. Over the next few weeks, we will be bringing you some alphabetical memories from everyone’s favourite Song Contest. Today, we are at the letter K.
Kyiv
Kyiv, hosted the fiftieth Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 and the sixty-second Eurovision Song Contest in 2017.
In 2005, 39 countries took part in the Contest. Helena Paparizou took victory for Greece, with “My Number One”. Greece won with 230 points, 38 points ahead of Malta.
Karelian
Karelian is a dialect of the Finnish language that first appeared at the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2010.
Kuunkuiskaajat represented Finland, with their entry “Tyolki ellaa”. Finland finished 11th, with 49 points, in the first semi final.
Katie Boyle
Katie Boyle was a four-time presenter of the Contest for the United Kingdom during the 1960s and 1970s. She hosted from London in 1960, 1963 and 1968, as well as from Brighton in 1974.

Katrina Leskanich
Katrina Leskanich hosted the 50th anniversary show, Congratulations. Previously to that, Katrina represented the United Kingdom with The Waves, in 1997, when they won with “Love Shine A Light”.
