SVT, the Swedish national broadcaster, has revealed a second consecutive year, for a record number of song submissions for Melodifestivalen – their national selection for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest, in Burgas.

SVT have revealed that they have received a record number 4,077 song submissions ahead of Melodifestivalen 2027 – significantly up from 2023, when 2,824 song submissions were made. Over the last seven years, the following number of song submissions have been made:

• 2027 – 4,077
• 2026 – 3,888
• 2025 – 2,794
• 2024 – 2,624
• 2023 – 2,824
• 2022 – 2,530
• 2021 – 2,747
