Along with Australia, North Macedonia and Wales, Ireland have also withdrawn from the 2020 Junior Eurovision Song Contest due to the current Coronavirus pandemic.
While Ireland initially announced their participation early on and went as far as reaching out for applicants, they have now withdrawn due to the ongoing pandemic. Further details reveal that the withdrawal is linked to Poland not been on the Green List for Irish travel without self-quarantine restrictions.
TG4 have revealed that they fully intend to return to the Contest in 2021.
